Arbor Day Celebration at River Park

The City of Hamilton is proud to be a member of the Tree City USA program. In recognition of National Arbor Day, the City is planning a celebration of trees to recognize the important role that they play in our town.

Please join us on Friday, April 28th at River Park in Hamilton for educational presentations, snacks, the Arbor Day proclamation and tree planting.

The April 28th Arbor Day Celebration at River Park schedule is:

11am to noon (educational presentations approximately 15 minutes each in length)  

  • Tree Planting and Tree Care
  • The Importance of Trees and Riparian Areas to the Riverine Ecosystem
  • The History of Arbor Day and the Importance of Urban Forestry

Lunch (the City will provide small snacks and drinks)

  • During lunch, Mayor Jerry Steele, will read the Arbor Day Proclamation

1pm (tree planting)

  • The City will plant 10 new cottonwood trees in River Park and install protective fencing. The City will also provide small seedlings to take home and plant.

If you are a teacher or group leader please let us know by April 14th approximately how many people you will be bringing to the celebration and if there are other educational opportunities you would like included.
