City Court Judge Vacancy - Public Comment

Subject:  Public Comment Period Open for City Court Judge Applicants 

The City of Hamilton has solicited applications for the position of Hamilton City Court Judge to fill the seat to be vacated by the Honorable Mike Reardon who is resigning from his position once his successor is appointed and sworn in.

 The City is now soliciting public comment on the applicant.  

Public comment will be accepted until 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2020. Public comments may be submitted in writing either by emailing them to cityclerk@cityofhamilton.net or by submitting them to the City Clerk at:

All public comment received becomes part of the applicant’s file which will be provided to the Mayor, Selection Committee, and City Council. The Mayor and Selection Committee will meet on June 9, 2020 at 3:00 pm to interview the applicant.  The City Council will meet on June 16, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room at City Hall to review the Mayor’s recommendation for appointment.  Additional public comment will be taken at both of these public meetings. 

Applicants and members of the public are hereby notified that all meetings and proceedings of the City Council and documents shall be open to the public, with an opportunity for public comment, except when, by a majority vote of the City Council, it is declared that the demand of individual privacy clearly exceeds the merits of public disclosure. All documents received by the City Council shall be open to the public and may be viewed by interested parties on the City’s website or at the City Clerk’s office during normal business hours. Social Security numbers, home addresses, and home telephone numbers will be redacted from the application materials prior to making them available to the public.
